Before I write a single line of code for Leviathan I want to write a series of posts establishing each part of the system. This is mostly for my own sanity but I'm hoping some of you will also find it interesting.
We'll start with what I'm calling Levity: a HTML templating system that Leviathan will depend on for its output.Read More
Edit: I did it! Is it working? Are we all shiny and clean now?
- Wordpress does not play nicely with my host,
- I had to run a nightly beta to get this theme, and
- I generally prefer SquareSpace's interface, services and stuff more than I prefer self-hosting WordPress.
So yes. I should have everything pulled over by Thursday; the same website with the same content, just nicer looking and way less janky.
Thomas Sowell in an intriguingly retro video dissects the usual handling of statistics in conversations of equality. It seems the data is worthless unless you drill down immensely.

Alright, we've got a basic HTML model up (after ditching the horror that is Twitter Bootstrap) and the data back-end is up and running. Now if you'll excuse me I need to not stare at code for the next six hours.
This movie may have happened thirty years ago, but I can see this scene (and others) happening even today.
Progress is being made! I'm not sure about using blue for the main colour though, I'm also considering using the same layered colour effect with something heavier like orange or purple. Right now it's very "Facebook-y". Still, going from notepad to vector in half a day is pretty good.

I have an idea. Normally when I have an idea I abandon all my other projects (i.e.: this very blog) and devote all my time and attention to it. But that’s been happening far too often lately; all I have to show for my constant reshuffling is a pile of husks and very little actual product. I figure that from now on the safest way to deal with my spontaneous ideas is to write about them on here as I develop them alongside. Worst case scenario? Someone better equipped to handle my ideas comes along and does it for me.Read More

"911, what's your sexy emergency?" I have so many words about this. TL;DR: Glass will be fun for people to use by themselves, but terrible for interactions. No barista is going to stand there and wait for you to navigate your personal GUI.
